Age & Driving License

All Malaysian drivers must be above 23 years old and possess a valid Malaysia Class D Driving License. All foreigners except for Singaporeans must hold a valid International Driving License and passport. All drivers must have at least two years of driving experience.

FLDM reserves the right to refuse rental of a vehicle if the Hirer demonstrates inability to drive the car properly/inexperience or DO NOT obey road rules. Malaysian “P” license is not accepted.

Named Drivers

Only named drivers will be allowed to drive the vehicle. Coverage of CDW & PAI will not be valid if the car is being driven by unnamed driver. All named drivers shall be recorded in the Lease Agreement.

Full Maintenance

FLDM shall undertake to provide full maintenance of the hire car subject to fair, wear and tear. Our cars are to be driven in all Government gazetted roads only. Failing to comply, the hirer shall be liable for all accidental and repair costs including under – carriage repair and cleaning interior upholstery.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)

Hirer is liable for the first amount (refer to table below) for each accident involving damage to the car, damage or loss of the car by fire or theft. Loss or damages to the tyres, accessories and equipments aside from normal wear and tear are not protected by our car insurance or the purchase of CDW. Note that followings items are not covered; petrol, parking fees, fines, traffic offences, missing items e.g tyres, wheel caps, tools, cigarette lighter and minor damage or deep scratched marks resulting from the negligence of the hirer.

Excess Clause

DCDW (Discount Collision Damage Waiver) reduces the Hirer’s excess in the event Hirer sustains any damage to FLDM vehicle and if the Hirer is found to be not at fault by the Police authorities, they WILL only BE liable to pay the reduce excess clause.

DCDW will only be applicable subject to the compliance of a police report in reference to the damages sustained to the vehicle. Should the Hirer be found negligent or under the influence of alcohol and summoned by the relevant authorities the Hirer will be liable to pay the total damage cost of FLDM’s vehicle and the Third Party involved.

The following are not covered by purchase of DCDW :

• Cost of re-installation of Air-Bag
• Damage to the windscreens (front and rear) and all windows

For minor dents or deep scratch marks, Hirer should inform FLDM duty officer who will then evaluate the extent of damage cost to be paid by the Hirer to avoid the hassle of making a police report.

Insurance

All vehicles are insured under First Party Insurance and insurance cover for Third party property damage up to RM2,000,000.

Availability

All rentals are subject to availability. In the event that a booking deposit has been placed and the vehicle cannot be produced at the time of DELIVERY, the Hirer shall be assigned with another vehicle similar capacity until the reserved vehicle is available for swapping.

Deposit

All rental deposit will be retained for at least 14 working days after the rental vehicle is returned. This is to check for any traffic violation or parking fines or summonses and if exist the amount will be deducted from the rental deposit or charge to the Hirer’s credit card.

Cancellation of Booking

In the event that a Hirer decided to cancel a reservation whereby a booking deposit has already being placed, the cancellation policy as follows:

• Refund 90% of the security deposit, IF notified FLDM within 14 days
• Refund 50% of the security deposit, IF notified FLDM within 7 days
• No refund if notified less than 36 hours

Cancellation should in writing emailed or SMS to FLDM.

Payment Mode

We accept CASH/COMPANY CHEQUE and all major credit cards, VISA/MASTERCARD/AMEX.

Delivery/Drop off and Collection Charges

Free delivery within 5 KM radius from FLDM office. Minimum charges will be charged base on distance from FLDM office.

Late Return/Extension of Rental

In the event if you wish to extend the rental period from the original termination date, kindly notify FLDM immediately and ensure the extension rental charge be paid within the same day so that insurance coverage is extended. Failure to do so may mean that the Hirer is driving the car without insurance. In the event of accident, the Hirer will be liable for the full damage cost.

Each late hour is chargeable at 20% of the daily rate.

Fuel/Petrol

All vehicles are provided with full tank of petrol upon Hirers request and must return the same level. Failing which an estimated refueling charge plus RM10 service charge will apply.

Excess fuel will not be refunded or offered with credit or contra with any other charges due from the Hirer to FLDM.

Parking Fee and Traffic Fines

The Hirer is liable for all parking and traffic summonses incurred during the rental period. An additional RM50.00 to RM100.00 administration fees will be added to the Hirer’s traffic fines within the rental period.

Renewal

The Rental/Lease Agreement can be renewed subject to approval from FLDM.

GPS/Child Seats

GPS Maps can be arranged at RM15 per day or RM150 per month.
Baby chair can be arranged at RM8 per day or RM50 per rental per month.

Entry Restriction

FLDM vehicles are strictly prohibited from being driven into Singapore and Thailand.

Surcharge After Office Hours

Our business hours is from 9.00am to 5.00pm. For delivery or collection at FLDM office, before or after working hours, Sunday and Public Holiday, there will be a minimum charge of RM30 per arrangement.

Replacement of Vehicle

A temporary replacement car will be provided when necessary. However, the replacement car need not be of similar capacity or make and model.

Additional Driver

The rental vehicle is normally insured for the main driver only. Additional driver will be allowed subject to FLDM terms and conditions. RM10 per person, per rental will be charged.
